Over the past five years we have assisted many non profit and faith based organizations whose varied missions included medical care, social services, community outreach, housing, education, counseling, foster care, adoptions, residential treatment for children, and more. We understand the challenges involved in sustaining the values and mission while tending to the realities of business.

The full range of services we offer have been utilized by non profit health care systems, hospitals, social service and mental health agencies.

The management and Board of Directors of organizations with a mission driven mandate or religious tradition must generate positive net income as well as deliver compassionate, value-driven care. It is not easy: the "market" is unfortunately but profoundly rich in human and spiritual needs but poor in resources.

Board of Directors or Executive Management Consultation
Sometimes it helps to get professional, outside input on a particularly thorny problem, or prior to making a significant investment. We can simply participate in a discussion, or research, plan and facilitate a meeting designed to identify, explore, and develop options focused on the issues.

Presentations for a Board of Directors
Working on behalf of clients throughout the US and Canada gives us the opportunity to see trends in programs, funding, consumer needs, and planning. We can prepare an informative and useful presentation for a Board of Director's annual meeting or retreat and facilitate discussion relevant to nonprofit and faith-based organizations with social missions.

Social Enterprise Plan
In the current funding environment more nonprofit organizations are looking for ways to increase their self-sufficiency. One of these is to start a business or joint venture as part of a supporting, dedicated foundation that generates excess income targeted for the exclusive operational and capital needs of the service organization. We can assist executive management and Board members in researching and planning such a social enterprise.

Executive Support and Mentoring
Highly devoted and professionally qualified, executive directors or leaders may nevertheless benefit from access to a seasoned executive, particularly in terms of all the new expectations: sustaining or enhancing the organization's financial condition, strengthening a faith-based culture, communicating and collaborating with the Board of Directors; relations with the media, staff, consumers, and community. While we are not able to do this all the time, one of our senior consultants with related field experience can provide such support.

Independent Management Review
There are situations in which it is very difficult for a Board of Directors to assess a contentious situation within the organization's senior management. In those instances, we can provide an independent, non-biased assessment based on surveys with relevant stakeholders, staff, managers, funders, and others. We can also review and present compliance, accreditation, or other issues pertinent to the Board's stewardship. Getting the facts can benefit everyone. Following a presentation of findings, we can make recommendations.

Government Grants Research & Proposal Writing
There are increasing opportunities for organizations to contract with government agencies privatizing many different services. We can monitor federal and state requests for proposals and bid solicitations that nonprofit organizations could win, even providing jobs for some consumers. We can research and write proposals.
